This is a demonstration of rule-based inferencing using the ysh inferencing engine and the wysh interface, written for the Computerisation of Law course at the University of New South Wales Faculty of Law. This material must not be relied upon or used for the purposes of legal advice.
Corresponding design
SECT. In this Division:
"corresponding design", in relation to an artistic work, means a design that,
when applied to an article, results in a reproduction of that work, but does
not include a design consisting solely of features of two-dimensional pattern
or ornament applicable to a surface of an article.
RULE Copyright Act 1968 - s74 Corresponding design PROVIDES there is a corresponding design ONLY IF the work is an artistic work AND the work comprises a design within the Designs Act 1906 s4 definition of "design" AND the design, when applied to an article, does result in a reproduction of the work AND the design does not consist solely of features of two-dimensional pattern or ornament applicable to a surface of an article
Andrew Mowbray wrote the ysh inference engine (1991-94). Geoffrey King wrote the wysh web interface to ysh (1996 - ), and Simon Cant is developed it further (1997) (further details on the wysh pages). AustLIIs resetStats on legal inferencing via the web is funded by the Australian Research Council.
